| Summary | In six different interviews, prominent members of the TAIAW discuss a wide variety of aspects of their respective lives. Some women provide details about their childhoods and families. Others provide details of their respective educational backgrounds and the circumstances that brought about their interests in sports. Moreover, interviewees provide insight into the motivations each of them had for striving toward greater opportunities for women in collegiate athletics as well as the obstacles that stood in the way of doing so. Founding membes of the TAIAW reminisce about the various opportunities they had to initiate women's athletic programs and the reasons and circumstances that brought them to organize these programs as they did. Also, interviewees provide anecdotes about various mentors and other important people they have encountered throughout their lives, especially as these people relate to their involvement in woomen's athletics. |
